About Michelle
As a Special Education Teacher, I have witnessed growth in reading, writing, and math due to pressure point therapy, ocular motor techniques, and calming strategies. As a mother with a child with health concerns, I looked for specific massage techniques to assist her development. As a cancer survivor, I was struck once again with the power of touch and healing. Lymphatic Massage was the only touch I received during that time that was therapeutic yet non-invasive.
I earned my Associates of Science in Massage Therapy, with a dream that those with disabilities or chronic illness would be able to receive safe, therapeutic, medically based massage in a tranquil setting. In 2020 I changed my business name from. iCARE is now in it’s own facility offering therapeutic medical massage in a safe, accessible, and tranquil setting.
After my journey with cancer and encouragement from YMCA, Live-strong program personal trainers, I took the next step in my life to pursue a dream to be a massage therapist. I graduated Broadview University with an Associates Degree in Science with honors. During my training, I took additional coursework in Cranial Sacral 1, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Oncology Massage, and Reiki 1. My externship was completed under the direction of Sara Poppelton at Idaho Spine and Sports. I volunteered at Heart and Home Hospice to provide massage to those nearing the end of life. Since graduation, I have continued my involvement and training in taking Medical Massage and bringing Massage for those Living with Cancer to Boise. I have been a preferred provider of Society for Oncological Massage for 2 years.
Post graduation, I worked at Massage Central And Idaho Spine and Sports/Idaho Pediatric Therapy Clinic as a contractor. I am now in private practice at 7275 Potomac Drive, Boise Idaho. I feel blessed to be a massage therapist in the Treasure Valley, merging Eastern and Western Modalities, to bring balance and healing to anyone; including those with disabilities and chronic health issues.
